Children's Treasury of Poems - Linda Bleck (Illustrator) A Children's Treasury of Poems contains a wonderful sampling of quality children's poetry. The selected poems represent varying lengths and styles, from short four-line limericks to the nonsense poem "The Owl and the Pussycat" (three stanzas, eleven lines each). In addition to the writers mentioned in the synopsis, Robert Louis Stevenson is another who is very well represented in this collection.

This 9x9 board book has sturdy pages and binding. I purchased it when C was just over a year old, and now, after 2 1/2 years of toddler use, it is still in great condition. The pages are embossed, giving little ones a bit of a tactile experience.

Linda Bleck's illustrations are fabulous. There are subtle hints of a classic look, which meshes perfectly with these traditional poetry selections. As you can tell from the cover, the illustrations are also colorful, bright, fun, and so cute!

This is quality children's poetry in a book with visual and tactile appeal.
